Summer is a Bummer

The world has turned on it's heels. What is a fashionista to do!

Every venue is topsyturvy. From economics, to health and insurance (just to name a few) everything is out of control without a single plan in sight. Here's the sad part: “Fashion follows the culture and well being of the times”. In other words: today's catwalks and fashion magazines are a mess!

I fought this downwardly mobile fashion crash until I tamed my inner wild stallion with a huge dose of humor! A Harmonic Conversion happened this week at the “CAMP” Met Gala in NYC.
All of the guests paraded around the museum, “checking out” who wore the most outrageous “get up” and could “vogue” the best pose. I took a pocket full of notes from last evening's playbook and decided to twirl into insanity along with the czars of fashion....humor in tow.

Now if this wasn't a well planned fashion trick. Over the past few years, jewelry designers have all but shamed us into tossing out any earrings that were larger than a coffee bean. Being obedient fashionistas, we obliged. Today, ginormous is trending and persuading us to trim our lobes with “big-n-beautiful” earrings. I, for one, am going to give'em a try.

Being nearly impossible to avoid, I'd like to show you a plethora of these “fist sized” unique earrings. I hafta give the designers credit... as most of these styles are pretty attractive and creative. Infusing the old with space age designs; many have caught my eye and.... my wallet.

During these challenging times, I am delighted to see a few Spring/Summer silhouettes
that bring a much needed freshness to warm weather twirls.

Need has nothing to do with it”. Recently I scored three jackets that I am literally nuts over! The icing on the cake, the lights on the tree have always been: accessorizing. “you can't go wrong” anytime of year with a pair of Lexington Avenue NYC Belgium Shoes.

How beyond fabulous is this vintage “giddy up” cowboy shirt under my “embroidered to the nines” jacket! The cherry on the sundae: Valentino flats from a local resale shop!??!!

I added a bit of an edge to this Piet Mondrian inspired jacket... with golf sized pearls, earrings and a vintage Vera scarf for the belt.   ”Everything that's old is new again”.

Now for the “mix.. but don't match” looks”. These designers are serious! There is no rhyme or reason for this nonsense. Perhaps there is no rhyme or reason as to how we treat the ourselves and our planet. Reverse gears and simply combine your sense of humor with a “devil may care” attitude. Keep a sharp shopping eye , you'll discover and uncover “tried and true pieces” in your closet.
You are sure to experience carefree, silly and fun afternoons.

If you have a very tired pair of heels, a pair of stained jeans (when did this ripped and torn jeans ever happen...make it stop!) or a scratched purse... imagine being in a grade school painting class “going to crazy town” with a “who cares about this old thing” piece of your wardrobe! I added a few words to the purse and painted: “when life hands you lemons... add vodka”. Without “once upon a time....happily ever after” breaks in our days, this life would be impossible to traverse.

Oversized "over the top" can be quite  wonderful if you can handle being "bold and beautiful".

"Blend In" or  "Stand Out"  whatever you choose... this is the time of year to make a statement.

When a hot weather party arrives: "think pink" or "see red"... both Global Warming HOT colors!

I leave you with a prayer and a few giggles.

I have a dear friend who had to have a sort of tumor removed. The Doctor said: “we've never seen such a spongy pink mass...it was larger than a soft ball! Do you have any strange eating habits?” After giving this question some considerable thought she said: “ well, ever since I was a little girl, I'd buy a piece of penny bubble gum on the way to school. I'd eat a piece on the way to school and the other half on the way home”. “And when did you stop chewing the gum?” “Oh I haven't stopped and I even swallow the gum so I don't make a mess on the sidewalk”.The doctor replied: "that ship has sailed...forever"!!!!!

Another friend “got hitched” late in life. With no time to waste her doctor suggested that the bride and groom get a few eggs & sperms connected on a petri dish. Nine months later a perfect little girl was born. “Better insert another one ...nature's clock is ticking” the OBGYN said. Sure enough, nine months later, another perfect baby girl came into this world... a year apart and identical twins!

My husband once said “Please don't bring any more china home from the Flea tomorrow... we simply don't have any shelf space”. Upon returning home with a handful of treasures,... my dear sweet husband said: “ I thought I requested NO ROOM IN THIS INN NO MORE CHINA!” With an Irish twinkle in my eye... I said: “Oh I thought you said: nothing more from China”.

Most evenings, I draw a business card sized little painting for Peter. I put it on his soap dish. Every
morning, they bring a smile! He loves them. Little did I know he was collecting them in a notebook.Over 300! For a child or a pal:give it a try. Have a fun-n-fantastic Spring and Summer!!!

Omg I'm so happy to share this!!! I've been thinking I've lost my mind and it was some mental case. I myself had my tubes tied after my 3rd child. I have a condition that makes having babies so hard on my body. About 6 months ago I too would feel something like "kicks" of course I thought I was out right crazy. I never spoke to anyone about what was going through. How could I? They'd think I was nuts!!! Well my periods have been getting so bad that I reached out to my best friend who also had the operation to see if she had experienced any symptoms with her periods since! Of course we were in the same boat. I broke down and told her I almost felt at times I was pregnant I felt so crazy just typing this out to her. I was beyond nervous she would think it was a nut case. To my surprise she also had similar symptoms. We both are researching what this could be. That's when I came across this website on Google of dr Itua Herbal Center. While scrolling through these comments I stumbled upon how he treated HIV/HHerpes also helped a woman to get pregnant with his herbal medicines.
